Ceramic

Industrial ceramic properties

‌The main properties of industrial ceramics include mechanical properties, thermal properties, electrical properties, chemical properties, and optical properties. ‌

  • Mechanical properties

Industrial ceramics have high compressive strength and hardness, but low tensile strength and poor plasticity and toughness. Its elastic modulus is high and its hardness is mostly above 1500HV, but its actual strength is greatly affected by density, impurities and defects.。

  • Thermal properties

Industrial ceramics have high melting points, mostly above 2000°C, and have excellent chemical stability at high temperatures. Its thermal conductivity is lower than that of metal materials, but it has good thermal insulation properties. The coefficient of linear expansion is lower than that of metal, and the dimensional stability is good when temperature changes.

  • Electrical properties

Most industrial ceramics have good electrical insulation properties and are suitable for making insulating devices of various voltages. Certain ceramics such as ferroelectric ceramics (such as barium titanate BaTiO3) have a high dielectric constant and can be used to make capacitors. They change shape under the action of an external electric field and have the characteristics of piezoelectric materials.

  • Chemical properties

Industrial ceramics are not easily oxidized at high temperatures and have good corrosion resistance against acids, alkalis, and salts. This makes them perform well in chemical environments‌.

  • Optical properties

Certain industrial ceramics have unique optical properties and can be used in solid laser materials, optical fiber materials, optical storage, etc. Transparent ceramics can also be used in high-pressure sodium lamp tubes.

Common industrial ceramic types and their applications

Common industrial ceramics include ordinary, alumina, silicon nitride, silicon carbide, and boron nitride ceramics. Ordinary ceramics are mainly used for insulation, corrosion resistance, and structural parts; alumina ceramics are suitable for high-temperature and corrosive environments; silicon nitride and silicon carbide ceramics are commonly used in high-temperature and wear-resistant environments.

The main ceramic materials are tempered alumina ceramics and zirconia ceramics.

Our products include EDM ceramic nozzles, EDM ceramic guides, ceramic nozzles for micro-character inkjet printers, sapphire nozzles for precision dispensing machines,mico-hole ceramic jet cutting nozzles, and OEM ceramic components with microholes.

Our company is particularly professional in industrial ceramic drilling, punching, and polishing processes and is especially good at micron accessories and micro-hole processing for industrial ceramic components.
